Who is Julia Billington?
Julia Billington (she/they), I’m an actor, drama coach, director, arts educator, and yoga teacher.
What would you do differently from what you do now?
In another life I’d be a pilot. I’ve always loved watching the planes take off, and my face is glued to the side windows whenever I fly. It just seems like the ultimate feeling of freedom.
Who inspires you and why?
Brave people! Here are a bunch: Schuyler Bailar, Rain Dove, Glennon Doyle, Brené Brown, Nicole LePera, Elliot Page.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I’m already doing it! Let’s teach our younger humans about humanity, about art, about empathy, about how to recognise, deal with, and use their emotional capacities.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
So hard to choose… but one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had was road tripping from Colorado to San Francisco, through Utah, Zion, and Yosemite… it’s pretty hard to beat that.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I recently took a ride on a Sydney Harbour Jet-boat and that was WILD! If you like Adrenalin then this one’s for you!
What are you currently reading?
I have bought, but not yet started, Attached by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller. It has come highly recommended.
What are you currently listening to?
The SIX: The Musical soundtrack is endlessly on repeat…
Happiness is?
An over-rated objective. It’s one colour in the colour wheel; one flavor in the degustation.
What does the future hold for you?
Twists and turns & ups and downs. I can’t wait!
