On the Couch with Josh Piterman

Josh-Piterman-photo-by-Stephane-SpataforaWho is Josh Piterman?
I’m a loving, passionate, joyful, cheeky, hardworking, friend, son, brother, cousin, singer/actor…

What would you do differently from what you do now?
I don’t think I’d change too much other than taking back anytime my actions or words had hurt someone.

Who inspires you and why?
I’m a big fan of Hugh Jackman, Luciano Pavarotti & Roger Federer. Men who bring/brought joy, humility and kindness to all they do and make everyone around them better for it. I value that type of leadership so much

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Well I hope I’m making a difference now. I sure would like to be. I believe deeply in the service that performing arts (and in my case music) provides. An opportunity to allow an audience enter into a completely new world. A gateway to the heart and the soul. Something that inevitably helps feel more complete.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Italy. What’s there not to love. Food, wine, great people, architecture., culture, music, coastline, history. Its magic!!

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
It depends what town I’m living in. If it’s London, a night at the theatre followed by some fun in Soho. Melbourne, definitely some great food! Sydney, probably a picnic at Bronte beach.

What are you currently reading?
We by Robert. A Johnson.

What are you currently listening to?
Running Up That Hill (Deal With God) by Kate Bush. Like everyone else post Stranger Things season 4! Whatta tune.

Happiness is?
Being authentically yourself, then sharing that uniqueness with those you love and investing it into the things you love.

What does the future hold for you?
Who can ever tell… But I do hope that the upcoming The Phantom of The Opera production at the Sydney Opera House & Arts Centre Melbourne is a wonderful experience for involved and all who get to watch it. And that people get a real buzz out of listening to my new EP Loving You.

Josh’s new EP, Loving You, is available from 24 June.
