On the Couch with Joe Kosky

Joe Kosky Arts Review On the CouchWho is Joe Kosky?
I’m Joe Kosky, a 27 year-old Melbourne-based actor and musician. I’m one half of electronic duo GodWolf, and before High Fidelity, I played Don in the Australian production of Kinky Boots.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
As the opening of our show says – I wouldn’t change a thing. Life’s not meant to be perfect, and I’m ok with that!

Who inspires you and why?
Artists who aim to make a difference in the world – in, and out of the arts itself. Using creativity and progressive thinking to change the world is the best use of time I can think of.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I have a love for words and the communication of ideas, so I believe my ability to affect positive change lies in these areas. Whether that’s in acting, writing, composition or just plain-Jane Facebook debating, I’m not fussed.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Port Douglas – because it’s far enough away that no one can bother you, and the coconuts up there are amazing.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
To which town? When? Where am I? #tourlyf #allmybelongingsareinstorage.

What are you currently reading?
The autobiography of Steve Cazaly (AFL superstar).

What are you currently listening to?
Eliott.

Happiness is?
Puppies and coffee.

What does the future hold for you?
I’d rather not know! I’ll just keep moving forward and let the wind catch my sails hopefully.

Joe can be seen in High Fidelity, currently playing at the Hayes Theatre Co until 17 December 2017. For more information, visit: www.hayestheatre.com.au for details.
