Who is Jo Lloyd?
She dances, makes dance, teaches dance and researches what is possible in performance with dance.
What would you do differently to what you do now?
I would not do something entirely different, I would attempt to do what I currently do differently – I like to keep shifting my processes and develop methodologies.
Who inspires you and why?
What and who I am surrounded by inspires me, interactions/ conversations with active, fascinating minds and nature are all stimulants.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
The small acts with others seem to be my best offering.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
I thoroughly enjoy going to local destinations, walking at Wilsons Prom. Further away, I’m curious to return to Moscow one day.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Maybe Luna Park?!
What are you currently reading?
Articles mostly, I have books I will get to eventually! Most recent article on the history of blackness in art.
What are you currently listening to?
Duane Morrison’s composition, the composer who is making the music for my current work at ACCA, Helena Hauff’s latest release Oualm, Bob Dylan and Taylor Swift (as an antidote)!
Happiness is?
Soaking up all the goods – Spring, riding my bike, dancing, good food and the company of wonderful people.
What does the future hold for you?
Making the work I don’t know how to make and having the relationships I don’t know how to have. Oh and serenity, ha!
