On the Couch with Jesse Scott and Lachlan McAulay

Casus Jesse Scott and Lachlan McAulayWho is Jesse Scott?
A happy go lucky kind of guy with a quirky sense of humor and a love for friends and family.

Who is Lachlan McAulay?
Someone that can’t sit still for long between building circus props, gardening and exploring the great outdoors. Someone who has a passion for DIY and getting his hands dirty.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
J: Definitely something still in the arts. I’d go crazy if I didn’t express my imagination. Or gardening!
L: Something involving working with my hands and getting crafty in problem solving

Who inspires you and why?
J: Wonderful friend and fellow creator, Chelsea McGuffin, co-founder of the amazing Company 2. Her performance quality is world class and in life Chelsea is kind and generous someone to look up to. Oh, and for obvious reasons, my hero David Attenborough.
L: People who are able to look beyond their own existence, understand that we live in a fragile ecosystem, and make even then smallest changes to help sustain this beautiful world. So, basically, people very unlike our current Prime Minister.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
J: Well, we already live completely of the grid with solar power, rainwater tanks, composting toilet and small (soon to be large) vegie patch. I would encourage people to try and bring some of these things into their own lives.
L: Keep on spreading joy and happiness with our art to all corners of the globe.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
J: I love a tropical holiday with a good book and nice cocktail as much as I enjoy adventuring to the top of a mountain. Definitely not to a big city.
L: Anywhere in the great outdoors. Fresh water, fresh air, and not too many people.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
J: We have many beautiful waterfalls and bush walks around our home so I would pack a nice lunch and head out into nature.
L: We live in a beautiful yurt in subtropical rainforest, so when friends come over we generally stay close to home, have a glass of wine on the deck, and pull out a board game to play by the fire.

What are you currently reading?
J: I have just started the Disk world series by Terry Pratchett. Book 1 of 40.
L: The second book in the King Killer chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss.

What are you currently listening to?
J: Boy and Bear’s new album, Stuck on Light.
L: My Dad Wrote a Porno, book five.

Happiness is?
J: A glass of wine in hand watering my garden with good music playing, while the sun is setting over Mt Wollubin.
L: Harvesting fresh fruit and veg we have grown in our patch.

What does the future hold for you?
J: Continuing to create new shows, develop new circus skills, tour the world, and come back to our wonderful home to cook up meals from our growing garden. Always with Lachlan by my side.
L: My answer is the same as Jesse’s. Our lives are completely interwoven with each other and I wouldn’t have it another way.
