On the Couch with Jeromaia Detto

MICF-Jeromaia-Detto-AAR-OTCWho is Jeromaia Detto?
Is this an open ended question? Or was it supposed to have my name in it? Who am I? Who is listening? Waiting? Wondering? I am doing these things, so maybe it IS me??

What would you do differently from what you do now?
In another life I would love to be on an island, living, building, creating amongst the beauty of the wilderness.

Who inspires you and why?
Tom Walker, Viggo Ven, Thomas Monckton and Josh Glanc are all fantastic performers with brilliantly simple ideas. They are an absolute joy to see perform and learn from.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I would like to open up my own comedy school teaching the principles of comedy to kids and adults. The school would focus on alternative comedy like clown, puppets, sketch and improv making the artforms as accessible as possible!

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Edinburgh Fringe Festival of course. It’s summer camp for artists and the best month ever!

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
A good game of Aussie rules football at the G!

What are you currently reading?
Coles catalogue. Don’t judge me, there are some great deals!

What are you currently listening to?
Nothing! Send me some recs pls!

Happiness is?
Selling out a comedy festival season without needing to flyer 4 hours a day.

What does the future hold for you?
After MICF I have some down time then will be heading to Edinburgh Fringe!! Beyond that, I’m working on a new show and am excited to tour it next year! The hamster wheel of festivals is a beautiful beast to be enamoured by!
