On the Couch with Jennifer Vuletic

Jennifer Vuletic AAR On the CouchWho is Jennifer Vuletic?
An enigma wrapped up in a conundrum… do any of us really know?

What would you do differently to what you do now?
Hmmmm… more of everything and in every nation possible.

Who inspires you and why?
My astonishing friends – all of them. The most compassionate, creative, funny bunch of loving humans it is my privilege and pleasure to know. Other than that – shameless but warranted plug for them – Little Ones Theatre Company, helmed by Stephen Nicolazzo. I think 14 Green Room nominations in a single year for a company of this size speaks volumes.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Have someone fix the leader of the free world a nice relaxing, soothing permanent sort of tranquilizer. I would also earnestly entreat my fabulous International Relations compatriots to go forth and passionately spread peace.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Can I name a couple? Prague, because romance, palaces, Mucha exhibitions, the Charles Bridge on a summer night, Czech beer and Czech accents are an unbeatable combination. Pie de la Cuesta because pounding surf on a pristine white beach, mango & lime kebabs, tequila and Mexican duende are also an unbeatable combination.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
The NGV because there’s always something intriguing and beautiful to be found. Ponyfish Island for afters.

What are you currently reading?
A selection of poems crafted by the redoubtable Oscar Wilde and a few by Sappho – the lushness of the language and the intermingled bliss and tragedy of life are deeply sensual and perfect preparation for The Nightingale and the Rose.

What are you currently listening to?
Vissi d’Arte on high rotation – I sing it in the show, and it’s the most sublime distillation of what it is to try to make art, and what it is to try to love.

Happiness is?
Transient. Precious. Singular.

What does the future hold for you?
An enigma wrapped up in a conundrum – do any of us really know?
