On the Couch with Jayde Westaby

Jayde Westaby Arts Review On the CouchWho is Jayde Westaby?
A performer, mummy, partner, friend, daughter, sister. I’m fiercely passionate about what I do and feel very lucky to sing, dance and act. I’m very proud of being a Mummy to a beautiful baby boy and with my partner making life the best we can. Balance is everything. Life is for living and is very precious. Make today count!

What would you do differently to what you do now?
Something involved in fitness and working out OR food! Polar opposites in a way I know, but I love food therefore I have to love working out!

Who inspires you and why?
Everyone I work with. Some more than others. But seriously I have learnt so so much from the people I work along side. Whether it be their work ethic, talent, professionalism, etc… I always keep my eyes open and NEVER stop learning & growing (I hope).

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
That’s a tricky one. Have an opinion and have my say in the world.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
It used to be Australia! But I live here now so my second favourite has to be Croatia. In specific, a small island called Hvar. Just gorgeous!

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I’m still discovering Sydney so I think all the usual, amazing attractions. Definitely the beach, probably Coogee so we could pop into The Pavilion and take it all in with a cocktail in hand!

What are you currently reading?
My script, and bedtime stories for my son.

What are you currently listening to?
My harmonies!

Happiness is?
Spending time with my loved ones.

What does the future hold for you?
Lots of special, quality time with the ones I love, and enjoying a beautiful life and career here in sunny Australia!

Jayde will be playing Melpomone, the Muse of Tragedies, in Xanadu The Musical at Hayes Theatre Co from 12 May 2016. For more information, visit: www.hayestheatre.com.au for details.
