Who is Jamie Timony?
Jamie Timony is a young artist out of Sydney Australia. He is an actor. He soon will officially be slow-groove/alt/psych/pop artist MOSSY. He is also THE WORKHORSE from Sydney punk band These New South Whales.
What would you do differently to what you do now?
I would stick to a more regimented exercise schedule. I would probably go to bed a bit earlier. I’d eat less sugar. I’d read more. I would implement W.A.I.T into my life more regularly (Why Am I Talking?).
Who inspires you and why?
I’m inspired by people who devote their lives to helping others, people who fight tirelessly for a cause. I’m inspired by people who are open and honest about themselves – the good and bad parts and people who actively put into practice methods to get in touch with themselves, the planet and others. I’m inspired by people who make art in any form which moves me. I’m inspired by people who don’t lecture me or try to teach me anything but rather lead by example. I love people from all walks of life but am particularly attracted to people who come from rough backgrounds or have faced great adversity. Reformed badasses or just plain badasses themselves. As a kid, I always wanted to be a badass. People who fit that description have a magnetism for me.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I try to make a small difference on a daily basis by doing my best to be kind, be less judgemental, treat others as I would treat myself and vice versa, talk about issues I feel are important, take action where possible, have some reverence and gratitude for life and this great rock we’re spinning on and try my best to make succinct art that speaks to people.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
New York cos I left my heart there! I love drinking coffee at midnight and walking around at all hours and not feeling as though I’m in a ghost-town. I love anywhere with a vibing atmosphere and a lot of people and things and noise happening.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take then to, and why?
I’m a local cafe kind of guy. Like to give people the ‘local’ experience. I feel lucky to live in Sydney. It’s such a beautiful city. So picturesque. Great atmosphere. It’s crisp. I would take friends down to Circular Quay too. It’s beautiful.
What are you currently reading?
Just finished Malcolm X. It was incredible. Have just started Brave New World.
What are you currently listening to?
ICEAGE. Danish punk band. Fucking unreal.
Happiness is?
Contentedness. Peace. The simple things. The sun on a wall. A clear day. Waking up healthy.
What does the future hold for you?
A fulfilling career as an artist, happiness, friends, love, travel, learning.
