On the Couch with Jack Chambers

Jack-Chambers-photo-by-Daniel-BoudWho is Jack Chambers?
I am a creative person and I does what I likes and I likes what I do.

What would you do differently from what you do now?
I don’t think I would do anything differently. Boring I know. I have always had a passion for the arts.

Who inspires you and why?
My mum, Robyn, who is sadly no longer with us. She was a strong woman, with a big heart, open mind and groovy nature. I am who I am because of her unwavering love and support towards every life decision I have made.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
If I could, I would make it possible for everyone to be able to show empathy.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
It’s been a long time since I’ve actually gone somewhere specifically to holiday. But I think I would say the beach. Being by the ocean is not only calming for the senses but has a therapeutic effect, in bringing perspective.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Brunch at my favourite cafe, maybe a stroll through some markets, and finish with dinner and drinks at a nice speakeasy.

What are you currently reading?
My mind is too active to sit and read a book. But I have been threatening to join the audio book club, maybe sometime soon

What are you currently listening to?
I have been listening to the Mary Poppins soundtrack as of late. Not sure why.

Happiness is?
Happiness is a state of mind. Find a way to be at peace with yourself and you are on your way. My second answer is chocolate or an espresso martini.

What does the future hold for you?
Hopefully not too far in the future is my wedding to my partner Grant. The date has already been postponed 3 times now. 2 times thanks to Covid, and the 3rd, well… come see Mary Poppins at the Lyric Theatre in Sydney!

Jack stars as Bert in Mary Poppins – currently playing at the Sydney Lyric Theatre for a strictly limited season. For more information, visit: www.marypoppinsmusical.com.au for details.
