Who is Graeme Isaako?
Graeme Isaako Purcell. I am a Professional class clown, hype man, oh and a performer, living in Brisbane.
What would you do differently from what you do now?
Stop cracking my neck. Sleep earlier than 1 – 2am every night. Slow down more. Call my Mum more often.
Who inspires you and why?
My beautiful family (wife and three children aged 7, 6 & 4). Everything I do is for them. Building a beautiful family home, lifestyle and adventures together is the most joyous experience life continues to offer me.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Be braver with business ideas. Volunteer in the community more.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Bali. I’ve been nine times because it just settles my heart and spirit. I love the people because they’re so humble and grateful for what they have. There’s nothing more enriching than finding peace and breath in simplicity.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Scooter rides across the river bridges near QPAC, ferry rides, definitely all the theme parks. A stroll around West End, or a Kangaroo Point lookout.
What are you currently reading?
The Four Agreements. Loving the immediate application.
What are you currently listening to?
A lot of pop music lately (which is not really my thing) but it’s for my dance teaching work. However I’m always listening to Sza, and tracks from the Outer Banks series haha
Happiness is?
Finding breath and calm by conscious efforts to be still, present and connected. It is worked for, earned but also simple. It is alignment that comes from awareness and personal action. God. Light. Service to others. I truly do believe that happiness is found in GRATITUDE.
When we sit and take it all in and offer thanks for what we have rather than the fight and constant expectations we put on ourselves to get or receive all the time. Sometimes happiness is just a smile to or from someone.
What does the future hold for you?
So much goodness. Growth as a husband and father. Small gigs, massive gigs, triumphs and successes but great learning opportunities from the disappointments, setbacks and challenges. More Bali trips, and a lot of travelling as a family.
Graeme stars as Simon in the Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar – which is currently playing at the Lyric Theatre – QPAC, Brisbane, until 10 August 2025. For more information, visit: www.jesuschristsuperstarmusical.com.au for details.
