Who is Grace Miell?
I would say I’m still figuring that out. I’ve been on a journey the last few years trying to discover my most authentic self and I feel I’m still acknowledging new parts and learning. Grace is currently a they/she queer person who enjoys talking rubbish with the ones they love and spending all of their spare time outdoors
What would you do differently from what you do now?
If I wasn’t doing Jagged Little Pill, I’d probably be hustling hard to save money to travel. Before Miss Corona came about, I’d had trips planned all over Europe, Vietnam and Egypt.
Who inspires you and why?
I’m constantly inspired by the people I’m surrounded with. I’m in awe of how talented and hard working my friends are and it gives me drive (maybe a little competitive spirit) that pushes me to do the MOST.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Eat the rich!
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Great Keppel Island in Northern Queensland. It’s a small island off the coast of Yeppoon that is absolutely stunning. There are goats that live there which is without a doubt the highlight, but it’s peaceful and secluded which is exactly what I want when I’m on a holiday.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I would probably take them to my favourite place to eat or favourite bar. Bonding with friends over food and bevs is always a treat.
What are you currently reading?
Terra Nullius by Claire G. Coleman.
What are you currently listening to?
A lot of old school reggae.
Happiness is?
Happiness is different for everyone. But for me, happiness is playing with dogs at the dog park.
What does the future hold for you?
I hope for many things, but time will tell. After the last few years it’s difficult to make any plans. As long as I keep doing what I love and doing what makes me happy my future can hold a lot of greatness.
Grace stars as Bella in Jagged Little Pill – which is currently playing at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre until 13 March, before playing Perth’s Crown Theatre from 14 May and a return season at Theatre Royal Sydney from 9 July 2022. For more information, visit: www.jaggedmusical.com for details.
