Who is Grace Cummings?
That’d be me. Right now I’m playing the role of Charlotte in the Melbourne Theatre Company’s current production, Berlin by Joanna Murray-Smith.
What would you do differently from what you do now?
I’d live in a way that the changing world didn’t bother me.
Who inspires you and why?
I’m inspired by my mum… I understand the kind of calm in the world she gets from being in a garden or the sound of a bagpipe… That sometimes these things are all that you can get and you’ve got to cherish them… I always value her advice more than she thinks…
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Take care of it, as much as I can.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Anywhere with an ocean… All of the best memories are connected to beach holidays… You’re a special kind of tired when you’ve been swimming at the beach all day and it’s the best feeling in the world… paired with a salad roll, a glass of cordial and backyard cricket.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Wilsons Prom… I think it’s one of the most beautiful natural places you could see in the whole world.
What are you currently reading?
A book of selected Rilke poems. Rilke is the favourite poet of Charlotte in Berlin.
What are you currently listening to?
The Allman Brothers.
Happiness is?
Something different every day.
What does the future hold for you?
Hopefully a few good sleeps…
