Who is Glenn Hill?
An Australian Entertainer. Grew up in South Western Sydney, and now calls Melbourne home. Throughout my 24 year career I’ve toured both Australia and overseas performing in musicals including We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde and Matilda to name a few.
What would you do differently to what you do now?
I have a creative personality, so anything that allows me to create and express myself would be ideal. I have a slight obsession with home renovations and interior decorating, as well as really enjoying and appreciating plants and landscapes. So potentially something in those areas.
Who inspires you and why?
I am inspired by people, performers and artists who continue to create and evolve honestly and genuinely. It’s easy to get lost in this world and this business. The ability to hang on to who you are at your core and to stay true to that while navigating your life and career, takes self awareness and a solid support network of friends and family.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
At the base level, I truly believe the solution to most things can be traced back to genuine kindness between humans. Treat people with love, care and respect. Learn from each other. Exchange ideas and have open conversations. We can’t solve any of the world’s problems while ever we are living in a fractured, segmented society. Get chatting to your neighbour. Your family members. People who have differing opinions to yours. The best ideas start with a conversation.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
I’ve been lucky enough to travel a fair bit for work, which can be a different vibe to a “holiday”. But somewhere that I have worked AND vacationed, that I absolutely love, is Japan! What an extraordinary country! The merging of their gorgeous history and traditions with the new age of crazy technologies is incredible. Pair that with some of the best food, skiing, hiking, nature, mineral spring onsens… I could go on and on. YOU MUST GET THERE!
When friends come to town what attraction would you take them to and why?
I have to say I always love taking visitors to Sydney over to Taronga Zoo! Start the day with a trip on the ferry past all of the beauty that is Sydney Harbour. Then enjoy the day walking through the zoo and occasionally catching the most incredible glimpses of the Sydney skyline and harbour views. Finish the day off with a cocktail at Opera Bar, watching the sunset skies over the Harbour Bridge and Opera House!
What are you currently reading?
When I have time to read at the moment, my head is firmly in my script for City Of Angels! Lots of dialogue and song lyrics to learn.
What are you currently listening to?
I have a range of tastes when it comes to music. At the moment it’s Harry Styles, Lizzo, Beyoncé, Allen Stone. When it comes to Podcasts I am really enjoying episodes of The Imperfects.
Happiness is…?
Many things! I can’t go past the feeling of a hike out in nature. Fresh air and quiet. Equally as good is a night on the couch with a great movie and a glass of red wine. Anything that feeds the heart and soul.
What does the future hold for you?
If my life has taught me anything so far, it’s that it is UNPREDICTABLE! I’m always trying to get better at embracing the unknown. But, I hope that I can continue to achieve and challenge myself with my work, and pair that with more travel and FUN with the people I love
