On the Couch with Eloise Snape

Eloise-Snape-AAR-On-the-CouchWho is Eloise Snape?
Eloise is a creative person who dabbles across a few fields, a mother, a self-confessed reality TV viewer, a plane-obsessed nearly middle-aged human. Not that I’m thinking about that or anything.

What would you do differently from what you do now?
Develop some slightly healthy habits? Go back to therapy? Spend less time obsessing over silly unimportant things? Create less drama in my head than necessary? Other than that, I think I am pretty satisfied with my life choices, to this point. Lets see what happens next.

Who inspires you and why?
My Mum. Because now I have become one, I am truly blown away at how she did it. I was a menace. She is amazing.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Start acknowledging and reducing my carbon footprint seriously on a day-to-day basis, and become a vegetarian.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
It’s a tight race between Vietnam and Italy. Both for their cities, people, colours, foods, energy, smells, history, vibrancy and adventure.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Ooh this is a good one. To be honest, and this sounds super lazy, but I grew up in Balmain and live there now, so I often suggest a little pub crawl up Darling St, starting from East Balmain ferry wharf. It’s one of the most beautiful views of the harbour down there, and conveniently the only way out (other than via the water) is to wind up through the very attractive terrace houses via a pub on every corner.

What are you currently reading?
Pineapple Street by Jenny Jackson.

What are you currently listening to?
Beyonce’s Renaissance album, the shared playlist we have made during our Pony rehearsals and the Bluey Dance Album, courtesy of my daughter.

Happiness is?
A glass of wine in front of Drag Race? Or realizing I don’t need any of the noise to be happy. If that makes sense. A bit deep. Sorry.

What does the future hold for you?
Raising my daughter, navigating a career in the arts, loving my family and friends, many trips to Vietnam and Italy and maybe getting my pilots license. I have a fear of flying, so wish me luck with that.
