Who is Ella Lehaf?
Now that’s got me thinking – to summarise I’m an event producer and tap dancer – which has led me to produce the Australian Tap Dance Festival now in its 5th year.
What would you do differently to what you do now?
Find more confidence in my abilities and worry less about things out of my control. These lessons I have learnt through my experiences but they are ones I would have liked earlier on in life. Also the recent discovery of The Five Minute Journal has had a big impact on my daily routine and perception of the world.
Who inspires you and why?
People who take a chance on their true passion and show persistence in a way the world can’t ignore.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
That’s a big question… at the moment the concept of fear intrigues me. So finding ways and educating others on facing and overcoming fears – as we all have them and I do wonder the potential of what each individual could achieve if fear didn’t stand in the way.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
When I travel I always enjoy discovering new places – so my favourite destination is always changing. One that I do love is Edinburgh during the Fringe Festival – a city that is immersed in an array of artists of all different mediums including tap dancers! There is so much talent to behold and in a very memorable location.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Melbourne is a city of hidden gems, so I enjoy taking friends down the alleyways to uncover the quirky bars Melbourne has on offer. Further afield, the Great Ocean Rd is quite a spectacular sight that is a must-see!
What are you currently reading?
The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg – I’m fascinated by our minds and ways we can change our perception and habits.
What are you currently listening to?
I listen to Pandora, so continuously discovering new music – Post Modern Jukebox and Jason Mraz are regular occurrences on the stations I choose.
Happiness is?
Different for everyone – for me I find happiness in music, tap dancing, creation, friends, family, shared experiences and gratitude.
What does the future hold for you?
A lot more tap dancing and Australian Tap Dance Festivals! Though my focus this year has been on living in the present, continuing to work on projects I’m passionate about and discovering new places and people; not sure where this will take me but I’ve enjoyed the journey so far and look forward to uncovering the future as it comes.
