Who is David Walliams?
David Walliams is a comedian, actor and author who continues to take the children’s literary world by storm.
What would you do differently to what you do now?
If I wasn’t a comedian or writer – I would starve!
Who inspires you and why?
If you are a writer you don’t want to live in a bubble. You need to get out there. Real people inspire me the most, and children especially, as they are so imaginative.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Australia of course. The people are so warm and friendly. I remember swimming off Bondi Beach and a man swam past me and said Welcome to Australia!
What are you currently reading?
I am never without my books of Philip Larking poetry, but I also have Neil Tennant’s (Pet Shop Boys) book of lyrics One Hundred Lyrics and a Poem by my bedside. Neil is a huge inspiration to me.
What are you currently listening to?
More Blood, More Tracks – the box-set of out-takes from my favourite Bob Dylan album Blood on the Tracks.
Happiness is?
Being with my son.
What does the future hold for you?
I imagine I will write some more books. I want to do that forever.
David is the author of Billionaire Boy – which comes to life on stage in play by Maryam Master at Arts Centre Melbourne: 6 – 14 April 2019. For more information, visit: www.artscentremelbourne.com.au for details.
