On the Couch with Chloe Halley

Chloe Halley AAR On the Couch Feb 2026Who is Chloe Halley?
Chloe Halley is a Melbourne-based performer, creative and producer. Born in Canberra, she followed her big dreams to the big city, and is starting to see them come true! After performing in independent productions around Melbourne, she discovered the world of cabaret and is now touring her debut solo cabaret, Little Miss Typecast.

What would you do differently from what you do now?
Honestly, not a lot. I have worked hard to build a life that I love and is fulfilling. I juggle study, teaching and my own creative work, so I am definitely very busy. If anything, I’d love to outsource some of the more mundane tasks, so I had more free time.

Who inspires you and why?
My biggest inspirations are my parents, cliché, but honest. I got to grow up watching them both build successful careers, without ever putting my siblings and I on the back burner. They have shown me what it means to work hard and be driven, whilst remaining true to who you are and what you believe in. Having people firmly in my corner has made all the difference when putting myself out there, and I hope to be that person for others who may not have that support.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I would make sociology a compulsory subject in every curriculum.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Fiji. It is breathtakingly beautiful, rich in culture, and the kind of place where you can genuinely switch off and relax.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
My go to is a walk through the Royal Botanic Gardens (weather permitting), it’s the perfect place to wander and catch up.

What are you currently reading?
I am reading the last book in the Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn. I’m a big fan of series, they save me from having to decide what to read next.

What are you currently listening to?
Sabrina Carpenter and Harry Styles – I’m desperately awaiting the new album

Happiness is?
Creative fulfilment, being surrounded by people who truly know and understand you, connecting with an audience, achieving goals, enjoying the ride.

What does the future hold for you?
The immediate future holds touring Little Miss Typecast to Adelaide Fringe, and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Beyond that, I plan to keep seizing touring opportunities, auditioning, and creating new work.

Chloe stars in Little Miss Typecast – which will be presented at the Dom Polski Centre, as part of the 2026 Adelaide Fringe, from 28 February – 1 March; before playing at The Motley Wherehaus, as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, from 23 – 29 March.
