On the Couch with Chelsea Gibb

Chelsea Gibb Arts Review On the CouchWho is Chelsea Gibb?
I am… Passionate about my family, all things health and fitness (with a dash of smoochy food on the side), cooking, acting and singing and striving to be the best version of myself.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
I’d probably become someone whose favourite food isn’t ice-cream… honestly I think I’m a constant work in progress, but I’m pretty happy with where I’m sitting right now.

Who inspires you and why?
My children. I’m constantly amazed at how open and forthright they are about their feelings and life. They are a constant source of inspiration.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
If I could wave a magic wand, I’d have classes in school about emotional wellbeing, mental health and acceptance. I have seen far too many people suffer their whole lives with these things. It’s what sees you through life, and we pay little attention to it in the formative years.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Sunshine Coast (as my family live there) and Italy, which apart from Australia is my favourite place on earth.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Probably the Geelong foreshore, Sovereign Hill, the Melbourne museums and Werribee Zoo. They are all our favourite haunts.

What are you currently reading?
Big Little Lies – a bit of light fun.

What are you currently listening to?
Revisiting some old Jazz, a bit of Janis Ian and l run to some fun pop… Or modern hits.

Happiness is?
Health, family and being present and grateful for what is right in front of you.

What does the future hold for you?
Some more Sally Bowles with a dash of a new show called CYrens (celebration of Cy Coleman music) with the amazing Amanda Harrison, Melissa Langton and Mark Jones at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, and then Melbourne.

Chelsea stars as Sally Bowles in the upcoming Melbourne season of Cabaret at the Athenaeum Theatre from 27 April 2017. For more information, visit: www.cometothecabaret.com.au for details.
