Casey-Donovan-photo-by-Stephen-GraceWho is Casey Donovan?
Casey Donovan is a 34-year-old Gumbaynggirr / Dunghutti Woman born and raised in Bankstown and doing her best in life.

What would you do differently from what you do now?
In a work space? I think I’d still do something creative in one way or another… I’d love to do something in hair and make up – its always intrigued me and I think it is such a skill to understand someone’s face and be able to enhance their beautiful features.

Who inspires you and why?
I am inspired by everyday people, people that challenge themselves and push themselves I am very much inspired by the underdogs of the world.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I think in some way, shape or form I already do. I get to tell stories for a living and entertain people and transport them for a few hours out of their heads and into music and or musical theatre.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
I do love my time in New Zealand. I would love to travel more and experience more of the world but every time I travel to NZ I almost feel home. The beautiful scenery, the people, the culture. It’s beautiful!

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Go for a walk around the Tan do some window shopping down Smith St and get some yummy food on Gertrude St in Fitzroy! There is so much to do in Melbourne and the surrounding suburbs!

What are you currently reading?
Scripts, lots and lots of scripts

What are you currently listening to?
An eclectic mix of music on Spotify anything and everything. I let Spotify take me on music journey and get introduced to new music, I absolutely love it!

Happiness is?
A sleep in on a Sunday and a coffee in bed with my love by my side.

What does the future hold for you?
Anything is possible! For the foreseeable future, I am super excited to get my Bluesday On Tour shows back up and running in NSW, VIC and QLD; and finish off 9 to 5 – which is playing at the State Theatre – Arts Centre Melbourne until 18 September 2022.

Casey can be seen as Judy Bernly in Dolly Parton’s 9 TO 5 The Musical – currently playing at Arts Centre Melbourne until 18 September; before playing the Adelaide Festival Centre from 9 October. Casey also hits the road with her show, Bluesday On Tour, throughout September and November.
