On the Couch with Caroline O’Connor

Caroline O’Connor AAR On the CouchWho is Caroline O’Connor?
Caroline O’Connor is a singer, dancer, actress, wife and dog mum who works on three continents and is living her best life.

What would you do differently from what you do now?
I would spend less time worrying. It’s a work in progress.

Who inspires you and why?
One of my greatest inspirations recently passed away. The Broadway performer Chita Rivera. She was everything I aspire to be.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I would make it law that people on social networks have to use their real identity and not a fake persona.

Favourite holiday destination, and why?
The island of Mauritius. My husband and I were married at the exclusive Hotel Le Saint Geran.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Well, I now live in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, so I would take them for lunch and cocktails at one of our favourite restaurants on Hastings Street, overlooking Noosa Beach.

What are you currently reading?
Eleanor of Aquitaine by Marion Meade.

What are you currently listening to?
For inspiration, I’m listening to fabulous, inspiring previous recordings of all the Burt Bacharach songs that I’ll be singing in the What the World Needs Now concerts with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in June.

Happiness is?
A job well done, then, coming home to my husband Barrie and poodle Lola. Cuddles on the sofa with a glass of wine and good music.

What does the future hold for you?
The future is very exciting indeed ! My next musical is a dream role. In October, I’m headed overseas to France to play Dolly Levi in Hello Dolly! at the LIDO in Paris.

Caroline stars alongside David Campbell, Emma Pask, Thndo and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in What the World Needs Now: A Celebration of Burt Bacharach – which will be presented at Hamer Hall – Arts Centre Melbourne on Saturday 22 June 2024.
