On the Couch with Carlos E. Bárcenas Ramírez

Arts Review Carlos Barcenas RAMIREZWho is Carlos E. Bárcenas Ramírez?
I’m a son, a brother, a friend, hopefully a good human being. Apart from that, I’m a passionate about singing and nature.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
If I wasn’t an opera singer, maybe I’d be a scuba diver instructor or an ecologist. I also like the biomechanics of the human body (physiotherapist) or I’d still be working in my last profession as a marine biologist.

Who inspires you and why?
I’m been inspired by people who get up every day, to earn an honest living; People that still smile despite adversity and still enjoy life. People that even in poverty have a rich soul, full of compassion and love.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I think if we are all more conscious about our world and the people who need help. Not only help financially, but we should be open to listening, offering a hand and our compassion. Also if we are conscious of our environment, our house, the world will start changing for the better.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
A quiet place and maybe somewhere remote, like a Caribbean Island or the South Pacific. The sea calms me, I love the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take then to, and why?
A walk through the botanical gardens. It is so beautiful, a perfect place to catch up and talk. The city streets, Melbourne has so many secret places for eating and enjoying a drink.

What are you currently reading?
The Prince by Machiavelli

What are you currently listening to?
Juan Luis Guerra, I love his music. He is a singer from the Dominican Republic and a composer of Latin Jazz and tropical music.

Happiness is?
Happiness is to do what you enjoy in life, is to love and to be surrounded by your loved ones. Happiness is to breathe, to dance, to sing and to laugh.

What does the future hold for you?
Who knows! If I knew life would be so boring. I hope to have a successful international career as a singer, a beautiful family and be surrounded by my loved ones and friends.
