Who is Cameron Daddo?
A guy who treats people as he likes to be treated. A father of 3, a husband, a son to wonderfully loving and kind parents, a brother to a beautiful sister and three great fellas, an uncle, a nephew, a godfather and a fortunate friend to a collection of amazing people.
What would you do differently to what you do now?
That’s a question for the future… cos what I am doing now is the best I know I can do, and when I think about it, it’s the culmination of what I did and thought yesterday. Being human, I often wonder how I got myself into certain situations… the woulda’ coulda’ shoulda’ done this and that, oh boy, it’s a playground that I should never go into unaccompanied so I simply attempt to be the best I can be and do in any given moment and be ok with that.
Who inspires you and why?
Winston Churchill, his ability to express himself… in speech and the written word. His discernment and ability to read a situation and take action for the greater good was remarkable. And people inspire me – people who act selflessly and kindly… I am inspired by people who after the 7th time of falling down, they get up for 8th.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Be an example of a caring, positive, grateful and take-responsibility-for-my-actions human being… I often attempt to imagine if we were all like this? What a wonderful world it be…
Favourite holiday destination and why?
As a kid it was Yamba on NSW’s North Coast… today it’s Yamba, I just had a few days there, and it was bliss. The sight of the fishing fleet leaving in the late afternoon, and arriving at first light, the surf and water temp, the food and the uncluttered life that is bare feet, shorts and t-shirt. (ps – Maui in the Hawaiian Islands is up there too!)
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I have lived in Los Angeles for 24yrs… so when people come to town, I usually take them places off the beaten track… like a full-moon hike (without torch) in the Santa Monica Mountains behind our place… or to the cafes of Santa Monica. I also grew up on the Mornington Peninsula, so when in Melbourne town, I take people down there… amazing!
