Who is Briallen Clarke?
I’m an actor who hails from Perth originally. I relocated to Sydney in 2008 and have been splitting my time between Sydney and Los Angeles since 2018. I’m very type-a, a Capricorn and a lover of sweet potato fries.
What would you do differently from what you do now?
It’s hard for me to imagine doing anything other than acting, as it’s been a passion of mine for so long now, but I’d probably still do something creative. Perhaps creative producing or something that was still connected to storytelling…
Who inspires you and why?
My mother is my most constant and meaningful source of inspiration. She’s an incredible role model and shows me (and many others) limitless support and kindness.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I’m passionate about the benefits of the arts for young people, including those who don’t have professional aspirations in the field, and would love to help increase accessibility for young people to consume and participate in creative programmes.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
I adore Spain… the people, the culture, the architecture, the siestas. Closer to home, I adore Rottnest Island off the coast of WA.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
The Coogee to Bondi Coastal Walk. To me, it is Sydney at its most spectacular.
What are you currently reading?
My book club, which happens to be full of several wonderful Sydney-based actresses, is currently reading Crossroads by Jonathan Franzen. It’s a family saga, with each chapter being told from the perspective of a different family member. I’m only about a third of the way in, but I’m really enjoying it so far.
What are you currently listening to?
I’m a podcast junkie, so I’m always listening to one of several I have in rotation.
Happiness is?
Love, health, family and friends, good food, art, sunshine and laughter.
What does the future hold for you?
Adventure, hopefully.
