On the Couch with Bianca Bruce

Bianca-Bruce-AAR-On-the-CouchWho is Bianca Bruce?
Good question! I guess the serious/professional answer is that I am an actor/singer based in Naarm and a teacher in the off-seasons. The more realistic answer is I’m a bit of everything, a little weird, a little anxious, a little sweet. A child and a grandma all rolled into one.

What would you do differently from what you do now?
Get more sleep and snack less. Drink more water.

Who inspires you and why?
Anyone who is able to live in the moment and be be present. I’m a chronic over-thinker and would love to just slow down a little and enjoy wherever I am at any given moment.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Distribute the world’s wealth more evenly. But in the meantime commit as many little kindnesses as possible. It doesn’t take much to turn someone’s day around.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Of the places I’ve been to so far, it’s definitely New York – I love the architecture, the theatre and art scene and the atmosphere. When you’re there it feels like you can be whoever you want to be or come as you are and there will always be space for you, which is pretty great. But I’ve not been to Europe or the UK yet, so get back to me in a few years!

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
My last time living in Sydney I visited a bunch of ‘hidden’ beaches around the harbour and surrounds. They were so beautiful and serene. Can’t tell you which ones though or they might not be so hidden anymore…

What are you currently reading?
I’ve just finished Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid and have just started The Last Story of Mina Lee by Nancy Jooyoun Kim.

What are you currently listening to?
I’m actually working my way through ABBA?s back catalogue at the moment-obviously I take my work very seriously! They’re so much more than their greatest hits- I didn’t realise how many hidden gems there are!

Happiness is?
Cuddling on the couch with my partner, a steaming cup of tea and an episode of Bluey.

What does the future hold for you?
Hopefully I get to do more of what I love-which is performing and acting but also sharing more time with friends and family. Good laughs and happy times!
