Who is Anthony Craig?
A tall and gangly man, actor, and proud papa of two beautiful goldfish (Ezzy and Willis) and seven pot plants (I don’t name my plants, silly). I’m also currently playing Tommo in Private Peaceful.
What would you do differently to what you do now?
If not performing, I’d like to think my job would be focused around the rejuvenation and rehabilitation of Australia’s native plants and wildlife. That or something to do with ice cream.
Who inspires you and why?
Good, honest people. Goofballs you meet throughout life who bring about laughter without fear of embarrassing themselves.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Plant more trees. Play more banjo.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Anywhere in the world with my partner Lauren. Tonight’s magical destination was Brunswick McDonalds.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take then to, and why?
Out for a nice walk at dusk to the end of St. Kilda pier without telling them that there are little penguins there. Best surprise ever!
What are you currently reading?
Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari. It’s been an easily consumable and mind-blowing read about the history of our species.
What are you currently listening to?
The cast recording of Bright Star the Musical, written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. Side effects may include slapping of your thigh.
Happiness is?
A hot cup of tea with a nice view.
What does the future hold for you?
Well now that you’ve got me thinking about it, hopefully more cups of tea, more planting of trees and more playing of banjo! Thankfully I’ll be doing the latter soon in the musical, Bright Star which plays at Chapel off Chapel in October.
Anthony stars in Moving Lights Productions’ Private Peaceful at Chapel Off Chapel from 3 September 2019. For more information, visit: www.chapeloffchapel.com.au for details.
