On the Couch with Andy Saunders

Andy Saunders Arts Review On the CouchWho is Andy Saunders?
A dedicated father, husband and friend of many human beings. I love my family, I love comedy and I love my culture. I am a proud Aboriginal man who happens to be a stand up comedian. I would say that I am a complex human who loves attention and making people laugh out loud in any space especially public. I will go to the nth degree to milk a joke and get a laugh. My stand up can be described as fun and sometimes a bit silly but on the other side of the coin I love taking people to places they would normally not go or think about, which is one of the greatest things about comedy.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
I would have to say that I would do everything different to see what happens, just curious. There would only be 1 rule, I have to be able to come back to the way everything is now cause it’s perfect. I would also have liked to finish my PhD in Acronyms.

Who inspires you and why?
My wife and kids cause no matter how crazy this journey gets, they are sitting shotgun every time, I love them stupid, not calling you stupid, I am saying that I am stupidly in love with them.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I would give Donald trump a more realistic spray tan, he is just too confusing right now, I can’t take him seriously.

Favorite holiday destination and why?
Always home but if I was going away it would have to be QLD, I love heat, sand and waves.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Probably the beaches ’cause they are pristine and the waves are great. My house as well, we have usually got dinner and a show happening ’cause my kids don’t have an off switch.

What are you currently reading?
Urzila Carlson’s book Rolling with the Punchlines, best book and facebook, I can’t put it down.

What are you currently listening to?
My wife screaming “turn that f#cking music down.”

Happiness is?
Family, friends, drinks, food, yarns and laughs.

What does the future hold for you?
Anything, everything and nothing more.
