Starting on 10 March, Jenna will work closely with NORPA Artistic Director/CEO Julian Louis and the NORPA team to deliver an exciting and ambitious creative program for the company. As Executive Producer, Jenna will also produce creative public programs and work with local artists on opportunities for development and performance.
“Jenna is a brilliant producer and project manager with a practice grounded in accessibility, inclusion and celebration of local artists,” said NORPA Artistic Director Julian Louis. “We’re thrilled to be working with her to usher in this next important chapter in NORPA’s evolution as a leading theatre company creating new works from regional Australia.”
Jenna joins NORPA from Perth Festival where she worked as a producer delivering local, national and international work as well as overseeing the festival’s expansive Connect Program including arts industry development and creative learning.
With more than a decade of experience as a highly skilled project leader and professional collaborator, Jenna has worked across theatre, classical music, festivals and venues both nationally and internationally.
For the last seven years Jenna has been living on Whadjuk Noongar boodjar working with a range of organisations including AWESOME Festival, Country Arts WA, the West Australian Ballet and the epicentre of independent theatre making – The Blue Room Theatre – where she was instrumental in delivering their annual Summer Nights program, presentation seasons and facilitating their grants and initiatives for the sector.
“I’m a passionate believer in the powerful role arts and culture plays in all parts of our community,” said Jenna Mathie. “NORPA has a reputation nationally for creating exciting, dynamic new Australian work that is grounded in the stories of regional Australia.”
“The opportunity to work in Northern Rivers NSW with NORPA, celebrating local artists and stories, and presenting world class touring works is truly inspiring.”
