NOOSA alive! Festival unveils a stellar 2024 program

NOOSA alive Festival 2024One of coastal Queensland’s most anticipated arts and cultural festivals, NOOSA alive! returns from 19 to 28 July and celebrates the 22nd Anniversary with a vibrant program of special events and premiere performances.

The 10-day festival welcomes national superstars and Australian entertainment royalty while spotlighting exceptional local talent in stunning seaside venues throughout Noosa.

NOOSA alive! Festival President Andrew Stafford invites people to experience 10 days in paradise with a specially curated program and affordable pricing to appeal to all tastes and budgets.

“NOOSA alive! is part of Australia’s festival trail and this year, Queensland’s cultural calendar is bursting with opportunity and choice,” said Mr Stafford.

“We are delighted to present national acts and showcase our up-and-coming talent in our 22nd festival program, with a highlight featuring the finalists in our annual talent search Noosa STARS alive!

“We are proud to keep ticket prices affordable without compromising the quality of the program, by making our performances accessible and appealing to all ages, along with our community masterclasses and workshops being offered as free opportunities for participants.”

In 2024, Queensland Ballet returns to NOOSA alive! for its 11th consecutive year with two breath-taking works – the world premiere of Papillon choreographed by Jack Lister and Holberg Suite by Greg Horsman – at The J Noosa on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 July.

Seaside Vibes, a two-day mini-music festival, returns to Noosa’s iconic main beach with former Noosa resident, now Nashville country music star Wesley Dean, headlining on Friday 19 July and synth artist and producer Luke Millions headlining on Saturday 20 July, backed by an impressive line-up of support artists.

At The J Noosa, Gold Logie winner Tom Gleeson performs his brand-new live stand-up show, Gear, on Saturday 20 July while actor and author William McInnes graces the stage for an intimate In Conversation event supporting his new book, Yeah, Nah! on Monday 22 July.

The 7 Sopranos will take guests on a musical journey in an exclusive, one-night-only performance on Friday 19 July and Satu In The Beyond (ACO) – presents an all-star line-up of Australian musicians drawn from punk, indie and classical worlds – which promises to be an unforgettable afternoon on Saturday 20 July.

Satu In The Beyond is an electro-acoustic collaboration that features Satu Vänskä, the acclaimed Principal Violin with the ACO and globally renowned ACO Artistic Director Richard Tognetti on electric violin, Midnight Oil’s Jim Moginie on guitar, Paul Beard on keyboards, Kiah Gossner on bass and Declan Kelly on drums.

Other musical acts include Taylor Swift tribute REPUTATION and Twilight Classics, an evening of gourmet food, fine wine and exceptional music under the Bendigo Bank Marquee on Main Beach.

Multi-award-winning international cabaret diva Meow Meow returns to Noosa direct from her sold-out Carnegie Hall debut for one night only at The J Noosa on Friday 26 July.

Words & Music is an intimate event with Australian theatre royalty John Bell AO OBE and extraordinary pianist Simon Tedeschi at The J Noosa on Thursday 25 July.

Mr Bell will also host an exclusive Shakespeare masterclass for 10 aspiring actors who successfully auditioned for the opportunity, curated specifically for NOOSA alive!

Junkyard Beats breathe new life into forgotten junk and teach the importance of sustainability in their musical children’s production The Box Show on Wednesday 24 July.

The NOOSA alive! literary program continues to grow with a Crime Writing Panel bringing together Michael Robotham, Candice Fox and JP Pomare to The J Noosa on Tuesday 23 July and a program of literary events at Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort with Jodi Rodgers (24 July), Chris Masters (26 July) and Chris Hammer (27 July).

Australia’s master magician and World Record-holder Tim Ellis has created a mesmerising performance exclusively for NOOSA alive! at The J Noosa on Monday 22 July and Harry Milas’ intimate Close Encounters shares the secrets of sleight-of-hand magic and illusions from 23 to 25 July in the Lorrikeet Room.

Murder Village, an improvised ‘whodunit’ mystery theatre experience – where the audience determines who lives, who dies and who will be unmasked as the culprit – will perform at The J Noosa on Saturday 27 July.

It’s not just creative appetites that will be sated, with a selection of premium food experiences served throughout the festival.

The Italian Long Lunch at Noosa Waterfront Restaurant invites all to gather and enjoy warm conversation, good wine and beautifully prepared food on Sunday 28 July and Sensational Seafood is a three-course lunch with live jazz at Noosa’s renowned Ricky’s River Bar & Restaurant on Thursday 25 July where seafood is the indisputable star of the show.

Showcasing, a line-up of talented local bands performing into the winter sunset at a free, community Festival Wrap Party on the picturesque Noosa River at Lions Park on Sunday 28 July, which also features the hotly contested youth talent event, Noosa STARS alive! Finals, hosted by Damien Anthony Avery-Rossi.
