Winner of Best Cabaret and Best Performer at the 2016 Melbourne Short & Sweet Festival, Raelene Isbester performs Nigella – Love Bites at Perth’s Fringe World Festival and the Adelaide Fringe this February and March.
As Nigella, Isbester will have you chuckling away during this light hearted musical tribute that playfully touches on her TV persona, family life and her ability to just get on with it and forge ahead, exploring what makes this woman so irresistibly appealing to many.
Nigella Lawson has been tantalising our taste buds for years. Single-handedly bringing sexy back into the kitchen with her smooth rich English accent, voluptuous physique and addiction to alliteration. Women want to be her and men want to be with her. Nigella has proven she is a domestic goddess time and again.
However, even a domestic goddess is prone to a bad day where everything just doesn’t seem to go their way and all they seek is a day languishing around in bed. In recent years her life has been filled with the bitter and the sweet. After a slew of recent media disasters, she has relaunched and revamped and is back with a vengeance.
Nigella – Love Bites is a triumphant character cabaret that explores the sugar highs and front page lows of Nigella’s career. Featuring original songs by Shanon Whitelock (award winning composer and co creator of Oprahfication), this musical degustation promises to be a stellar night of chocolate-coated cabaret.
