Patrick joins the NFSA from the Sydney Theatre Company, where he had been Executive Director for more than 11 years. He has more than 25 years’ experience in arts and cultural management, including with The Australian Ballet and Sydney Film Festival.

He has also held positions on several boards and advisory boards, including at Live Performance Australia, the CREATE Centre at the University of Sydney, ArtsReady, and the Deakin University arts management program.

“The NFSA collection is one of the country’s most exciting cultural assets, particularly as it increasingly becomes available in digital forms,” said Mr McIntyre.

“I am very much looking forward to working with the team to further enrich the collection, make sure it is preserved for future generations, and to find new ways to bring it to life and increase access.”
