Since 2020, Museum of Brisbane’s walking tour program has welcomed thousands of locals and visitors to take a walk through the City’s remarkable past.
This March will not only see the return of their popular tours History on the Hill, Walking in Wartime and Brisbane City: Past and Present, it will also see an exclusive limited run of the immersive theatrical experience, Walking with Vida.
Led out by the sensational Natalie Cowling who will be embodying celebrated artist Vida Lahey, this theatrical performance will transport you to the places that influenced Vida and learn about the personal stories behind some of Brisbane CBD’s most iconic sites. With the first two sessions already sold out in advance, this tour is set to be extremely popular!
Museum of Brisbane’s CEO and Director, Zoe Graham, says the walking tours unlock the unique stories behind Brisbane’s rich history. “We are so excited to once again give locals the key to our City’s past with the return of our immersive walking tours,” said Ms Graham.
“From the deeply moving tales of Aboriginal elders including Dundalli, to the remarkable story of the Battle of Brisbane, these tours lift the lid on our shared past and celebrate the stories that are the building blocks of our modern city.”
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said that the tours uncover some of Brisbane’s most interesting historical sites. “Brisbane has an incredible lifestyle that stems from a rich history, and the Museum of Brisbane excels in telling these stories in exciting ways,” said Cr Schrinner.
“With the return of our crowd favourite walking tours and the addition of new experiences, we are excited to bring even more to see and do to visitors and locals.”
