Shut up and listen. In exactly ten minutes and fifty-three seconds the world is going to end. But that’s not important right now… Get transported to another world with the apocalyptic musical, Motor-mouth Loves Suck-Face at Chapel Off Chapel 6 – 23 October 2016.
Welcome to the party to end all parties on the last night of the world. #Armageddon. #Zombies. Existential teenage passion and virgin-geeks – where the only way to escape annihilation is through a cosmic wormhole that leads to another dimension.
Presented by Anthony Crowley, Motor-mouth Loves Suck-Face is an apocalyptic musical comedy about a planet on the edge, complete with a pop-rock score (Suck My Armageddon, I Want to Taste Your Fish Paste) and a thumping Bollywood diversion because, well, how else do you distract a mob of brain dead zombies?
With all the ingredients of a cult show, Crowley creates a stage world where the dramatic stakes are high – life and death high – the energy is electric, the characters idiosyncratic, and the consequences comedically dire.
It’s an Australian story about universal themes of love, heart-break, hope and escape and the 21st century pop culture fascination with the end of the world. Wrapped in a glittering party atmosphere, Motor-mouth Loves Suck-Face makes its Melbourne debut with an energetic night at the theatre that is bursting at the seams.
