Maryellen: Anecdotal Evidence

MICF-MaryellenWinning an Adelaide Fringe Artist’s Grant and receiving 5 star reviews and high praise at the 2023 Adelaide Fringe, Anecdotal Evidence is a show you should not miss at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival this April.

With PCOS, PMDD, Anxiety, Arthritis, Neuro-divergent, Late diagnosis ADHD, and even later diagnosis narcolepsy, invisible illness, Maryellen has a lot of adjectives and she’s not afraid to use them to find her audience.

Maryellen had been cutting her teeth internationally over the last 6 years in places such as New York, LA, Edinburgh, and London before debuting her first solo show at last year’s MICF and Edinburgh Fringe.

She’s also been steadily going viral online for her quirky takes and relatable neuro-divergent content. She’s also a hit on Tik Tok for her quirky…

The team supporting Maryellen includes; Katzki, RÜFÜS DU SOL’s creative director, Marcel Blanch-de Wilt (Lizzy Hoo & Steph Broadbridge’s director), and Susie Macdonald (director of this year’s Perth Fringeworld winner, Collossal).

Maryellen is also the host of Open Bike – an inclusive comedy show where both performers and audience members are on spin bikes.

This is part of Maryellen’s production company Bits and Pieces Comedy – an inclusive platform for women and underrepresented comedians which has also programmed and co-produced this year’s QVWC Level 5 artists.

As promised, this show is full of surprises. Maryellen weaves anecdotes together in her signature high octane style, with characters, physical comedy, and laughs a minute.
