Linda Cable returns to the spotlight to wow audiences in Melbourne

Linda CableOne of Australia’s much loved stars of the stage, Linda Cable, returns to the spotlight this Sunday (27 January 2019) to perform alongside well known pianist Ray Alldridge at the Paris Cat Jazz Club.

Linda’s show, entitled Musical Chairs will see her take to the stage to perform some of her all time favourite songs as well as many of her own innovative original works. Linda’s much anticipated  performance has been a few years in the making and is expected to sell out.

The London born singer songwriter and recording artist has an enviable show biz history having performed all over the country and across the world. She has appeared on television, theatre stages and even in a feature film  as a singer, alongside ‘Hollywood’ heart throb Jimmy Smits. Just as her career star was rising, her mother fell ill. For a time, Cable was out of action to care for and focus on her mother. Sadly, her mother passed away this year.

Linda is now ready to return to the industry and looking forward to stepping back into the spotlight. Full of energy and determination to make up for lost time, Linda’s first performance back is expected to be a dazzler. Her electrifying stage presence comes from a unique gift of combining her great musicality with performing from deep within her heart and soul.

At her upcoming performance, Linda is renewing her collaboration with well known pianist and accompanist Ray Alldridge. They first met on a tour of the legendary Daly Wilson Big Band in the 70s. “I am really looking forward to getting back on stage.  I’ve really missed it,” said Cable. “I’ve got a fantastic band lined up to support me and they’re musicians I’ve known and played with for much of my life.”

While Linda may have been out of the industry for a while dealing with family matters, the industry has still surrounded her. Her husband is respected saxophonist and long time member of the Channel Nine Band, Bill Harrower – who will also be joining Linda on stage in January playing saxophone and flute – Darryn Farrugia (drums) and Mike Williams (bass) also joins them as part of the band.

“I’ve written a full stage musical and am looking forward to getting this off the ground and on to the stage,” added Cable. “There’s something magical about performing live on stage. It is a wonderful way to engage and connect with people. I love everything about it.”
