Australia’s favourite comedy double act, Lano & Woodley, have put their heads together (1.5 metres apart, obviously) and appointed themselves officers in charge of cheering us all up with Singin’ Some Songs this Friday and Saturday evening.
After more than two months in isolation, Colin & Frank, just like the rest of us, are in need of a pick me up, and what better way to do that than to dust the cobwebs off some old songs, write some god damn jokes, get the band together and put on a show.
Zooming at you, live across Australia and the Universe, for two-nights-only (Friday 29 & Saturday 30 May – 7.30pm), the boys will serenade you, your family and as many guests as your respective state governments will allow you to have in your home. No doubt Col will have been having some difficulty coping with isolation and who better to taunt him about that than Frank?
Lano (Colin Lane) & Woodley (Frank Woodley) came together in 1986 as two parts of a three hander called The Found Objects. When three became two in 1994, they became Lano & Woodley for a show at Melbourne’s tiny Carlton Courthouse. That show went on to win the prestigious Perrier Award for best comedy in Edinburgh, making Lano & Woodley only the second Australian artists to take out the award. They returned home to full houses and a TV show co-produced with the ABC and BBC. Then in 2006, more than 150,000 people came to the Good Bye tour to say farewell.
Now, like a phoenix or a slo-mo Farnesy, they came back, with a brand spanking new show! (But much older muscles). The childlike naivety of Colin and Frank’s on-stage personas gives Lano & Woodley a universal appeal, with people of all ages piling in to see their blockbuster shows.
Join our very favourite dickwits as they do their level best to entertain you in the comfort of your own home on Friday 29 & Saturday 30 May 2020. For more information, visit: www.comedy.com.au for details.
