Described as a guitarist of technical brilliance, exquisite control of soft sounds, and fiery dramatic playing, Jesse is considered one of the finest guitarists in Europe, captivating audiences at renowned venues such as London’s Wigmore Hall and the Musikverein in Vienna.

His program is based around the theme of ‘song and dance’, featuring a diverse range of musical styles. His program encompasses everything from melodious and lyrical to pulsating and rocking.

Born in Sydney to an Australian-Singaporean father and a German mother, Flowers earned his Bachelor of Music at the Australian National University, studying under the guidance of Minh Le Hoang and Timothy Kain.

Relocating to Germany, he commenced studies with Tilman Hoppstock and later Thomas Müller-Pering. Throughout his musical journey, the late composer Phillip Houghton served as a significant and cherished mentor.

Jesse teaches and lectures at the Akademie für Tonkunst Darmstadt, as a Professor for Guitar, to undergraduate and graduate students. He also manages a group performance class and presents seminars on guitar repertoire and musical style.

“His playing is calm and communicative, and one is quickly drawn into his performance. Flowers already displays maturity and directness of expression, he has strong ideas and builds drama, contrast and lyricism into the music.” – Classical Guitar Magazine

Jesse Flowers will perform in Brisbane (10 August), Maryborough (11 August), Wollongong (16 August) and Moruya (17 August). For more information, visit: www.jesse-flowers.com for details.
