Following the incredible local success of Aladdin in 2019, this brand new musical will open at the Festival Theatre, Adelaide Festival Centre in May 2022.

The Australian principal cast features Courtney Monsma as Anna, Jemma Rix in the role of Elsa, Matt Lee as Olaf, Thomas McGuane as Hans, Sean Sinclair as Kristoff, Aljin Abella as Weselton and sharing the role of Sven, Jonathan MacMillan and Lochie McIntyre.

“We are proud to have been part of Australia’s pioneering return to live performance at the end of 2020 and have watched in awe as Australians have made so many tough sacrifices since,” said Thomas Schumacher, President & Producer Disney Theatrical Productions.

“But Frozen is about a return from isolation and a community healing. So, bringing this show to Adelaide – which so warmly welcomed Aladdin in 2019 – at this moment in time is a thrill,” said Mr Schumacher.

“South Australian audiences love musicals and to have Disney return to Adelaide Festival Centre is a highlight of our 2022 program,” said Adelaide Festival Centre CEO & Artistic Director, Douglas Gautier AM.

“Aladdin was Adelaide Festival Centre’s best-selling musical, and we know our patrons will be just as enchanted by this magical production of the hit Broadway musical, Frozen. We look forward to welcoming theatre lovers and newcomers alike to Festival Theatre when this season begins in May,” said Mr Gautier.

“To have Disney return to South Australia with their world-renowned production of Frozen is a tremendous result for South Australia and will add to Adelaide’s vibrancy while supporting the arts and entertainment industry and economic activity in the state,” said South Australia Premier and Minister for the Arts Steven Marshall.

This feel-good musical is just what South Australians need right now and we recognise the importance of the arts in helping our community stay connected and in supporting wellbeing. We look forward to eagerly welcoming Frozen to Adelaide this year,” said Mr Marshall.
