Over 60 million people all around the globe have fallen in love with the story and music that makes MAMMA MIA! the ultimate feel-good musical that features over 22 of ABBA’s greatest hits.
On a small Greek island, Sophie dreams of a perfect wedding — one which includes her father giving her away. The problem? Sophie doesn’t know who he is!
Her mother Donna, the former lead singer of the 1970s pop group Donna and the Dynamos, refuses to talk about the past, so Sophie decides to take matters into her own hands.
Sneaking a peek in her mother’s old diaries, she discovers three possible fathers: Sam, Bill, and Harry. She secretly invites all three to the wedding, convinced that she’ll know her father when she sees him.
But when all three turn up, it may not be as clear as she thought! Told through the legendary music of ABBA, MAMMA MIA! has become a worldwide sensation that has audiences everywhere dancing.
Producer Matt Ward said audiences are in for a treat as the all-star cast are ready to deliver an unforgettable season of performances. “Our incredible cast of seasoned performers and homegrown talent have worked tirelessly over the last few months with our creative team to bring this incredible production to life,” he said.
It’s finally time to dust of their dancing shoes and sing Voulez Vous on opening night this Thursday. It’s surreal to finally say ‘curtains up’ to a live audience, especially after postponing the production for a year due to COVID, and off the back of our extensive audition process to find our full company cast of 22 performers.”
“But we’re here, and we’re ready, to welcome all the dancing queens of the Gold Coast to experience this modern take on MAMMA MIA!. Audiences can expect a 21st century twist on the show, as well as beautiful costuming and sets,” said Ward.
