Leo loved his wife June but now he loves Michelle and is seeing Melissa, the nanny, on the side. Meanwhile, June is having an affair with Rob, Leo’s brother and is sleeping with Helmut, her personal trainer.

Jeanette Cronin’s wonderful comedy and love puzzle takes a long hard look at intimacy. From when lovers first fall in love and tell each other everything, to when they fall out of love and don’t say anything. I Love You Now asks the big ‘love’ questions. Does love run out? Or is love only limited by our imagination?

“For our 2017 season we looked at many scripts by leading playwrights from Australia and overseas and I found Jeanette Cronin’s easy style and dialogue to be outstanding and world class,” says Glenn Terry, Executive Producer Darlinghurst Theatre Company. “On top of this, Jeanette is a powerhouse performer and I’m very proud to be championing this new Australian work.”

Directed by Kim Hardwick (I Hate You My Mother, Hurt), I Love You Now features Jeanette Cronin and Paul Gleeson playing all the roles. Jeanette Cronin has worked extensively as an actor in theatre, film and television in Australia and has more recently begun writing for the stage.

The production also features two of Australia’s leading musicians in Max Lambert and Roger Lock who have long desired to play together. I Love You Now has provided this opportunity, as it calls for live music throughout including original tango compositions.

Max Lambert is a renowned composer and musical director and has recorded with Kate Ceberano, Wendy Matthews, Grace Knight, Vince Jones, Renee Geyer, Paul Kelly, Iva Davies and Icehouse. Lambert collaborated on a number of musicals with Nick Enright including the Boy from Oz and the reprisal of his musical Miracle City was a critical success in 2014.

Roger Lock is a classical guitarist, concert and recording artist who has performed internationally and has produced several albums with Yorgos Nousis, Laetitia Ribeiro, Dr. Opin and Troebinger.
