A bold and joyful work by acclaimed theatre collective Pony Cam, HotHouse Theatre will present Anything You Can Do at the Butter Factory Theatre from 8 – 11 October 2025.
Following the success of I’M WITH HER earlier this year, HotHouse once again invites local community members to step into the spotlight, continuing its commitment to theatre that is deeply embedded in Albury-Wodonga.
This community-engaged performance turns stereotypes about ageing upside down. At the heart lies a simple premise: performers answer a series of questions live on stage (each night features different questions). Some questions are deeply personal, such as What does your father’s hug feel like?, others cheeky like Describe your sex life in three words, and many completely outrageous.
The answers spark improvised scenes, monologues and set pieces ranging from tender recollections to riotous theatrical spectacle – a poignant reminder that no matter age, experience, or gender, you will always have something to offer the world. No two performances of Anything You Can Do are ever the same, making each night an unrepeatable celebration of Albury-Wodonga’s people, their stories and their spirit.
From the moment audiences arrive, they are welcomed by the cast and invited to wander through a gallery of hundreds of questions (from mundane and blush-worthy to ridiculous and profound) sparking conversation even before the performance begins. Audiences are asked to come with open minds and open hearts, ready to encounter stories that are as human as they are unpredictable.
“This is the second time in 2025 that HotHouse has placed our community members at the centre of a major production,” says Terese Casu, CEO of HotHouse Theatre. “Earlier this year, I’M WITH HER gave Albury-Wodonga women the chance to voice the words of some of Australia’s most influential female leaders.
“With Anything You Can Do, our community once again steps on stage, not as stand-ins but as co-creators, bringing the stories, humour and wisdom of our region into the spotlight.”
