Winner of the 2012 Philip Parson’s Young Playwright’s Award, Heaven is a bittersweet comedy from playwright Kit Brookman about death, growing up, and the perils of becoming an amateur medium.
When Angela Farnsworth is run over by a bakery van and killed on her way home from school, the world starts to look very different to Max. Death seems very close, and whatever it is that comes after becomes a terrifying mystery.
Despite the scepticism of his friends, Max decides to ask the only person he knows who might be able to shed some light on the mysteries of the universe. But summoning the dead can have unforeseen consequences.
Writer Kit Brookman’s plays include Close, Heaven, Small and Tired (Belvoir, 2013) and Night Maybe (Stuck Pigs Squealing/Theatreworks, 2013).
