In announcing the return of live theatre in Sydney, Hamilton’s Producer Jeffrey Seller said: “The anticipation of opening Hamilton last March will be matched by our excitement in bringing Hamilton back this October. Thank you, citizens of New South Wales, for your patience and your participation in the vaccination campaign which has made our return possible.”

Hamilton’s Australian Producer Michael Cassel added: “Reopening Hamilton in Sydney is very exciting, as our incredible Australian company will be able to share their unique talents and return to what they love: sharing this revolutionary story with audiences each and every night. Sydney, we’re back!”

NSW Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said: “We cannot wait for Sydney and NSW to reopen, for our creative industries to get back to work and on stage, and invite visitors to enjoy the experiences that are exclusive to the Harbour City such as Hamilton in 2021. Let’s remind visitors why we are the greatest city in the world, and how our vaccination efforts and COVID-safe practices will enable us to shine once more.”

The Australian production of Hamilton premiered in March of this year and currently stars Jason Arrow as Alexander Hamilton, Chloé Zuel as Eliza Hamilton, Lyndon Watts as Aaron Burr, Akina Edmonds as Angelica Schuyler, Matu Ngaropo as George Washington, Victory Ndukwe as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Shaka Cook as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison, Marty Alix as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton, Elandrah Eramiha as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds and Brent Hill as King George III.

Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, Hamilton has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre – a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, Hamilton is based on Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography.

The Hamilton creative team previously collaborated on the 2008 Tony Award-winning Best Musical In the Heights. Scenic design is by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, sound design by Nevin Steinberg, hair and wig design by Charles G. LaPointe.

The Australian production of Hamilton is produced by Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs, Jill Furman, The Public Theater and Michael Cassel. The production is supported by the NSW Government through Destination NSW.
