Fully Committed

Ensemble Fully Committed Contessa TreffoneThis October, Ensemble Theatre will stage American playwright Becky Mode’s brilliant comedy, Fully Committed, which has been updated and relocated to a Sydney setting especially for this production.

In a dingy basement office far from the magic of molecular gastronomy, skilful reservationist Sam has to use her charisma and wits to keep over forty demanding characters happy… and most importantly, keep her job.

Fully Committed (sorry, no table for you…) examines what happens when Sydney socialites and international A-listers wish to dine on the date they wish to dine in a ridiculously trendy Woolloomooloo restaurant but cannot get in. There’s an increasing division between those who serve and those being served. Fully Committed explores this social reality in both an amusing yet truthful manner.

“Our re-location of Fully Committed to Sydney’s high end restaurant culture means the play speaks directly to our local experience of the ‘foodie’ phenomena,” says director Kate Champion. “What a great opportunity for one actor to play forty hilarious characters in one show. I look forward to working with Contessa Treffone and her multi-faceted talents to bring this one woman comedy tour de force to the Ensemble stage.

Becky Mode is an American playwright, actress and television producer. Best known for Fully Committed, her other credits include Party Mode, Smash, Jojo’s Circus and Unbelievable.
