Film scores from A to Zimmer QSO presents Cinematic

AAR QSO CinematicLights, Camera, Action! Cinematic is back for a fifth year of film favourites with conductor and host Nicholas Buc. Whether you’re a fan of sci-fi, itching for adventure, or ready for romance, there’s something for you in Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s 2024 line-up.

Soar with the epic space odyssey of Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar and feel the bloom of a tender romance with Carl Davis’ soul-stirring accompaniment to Pride and Prejudice.

Known for composing some of the most recognisable music scores in cinema, John Williams will be featured with the Superman March and the theme from Jurassic Park, alongside the iconic themes from Forrest Gump (Alan Silvestri), Batman (Danny Elfman), Downtown Abbey (John Lunn) and How to Train Your Dragon (John Powell).

New Gold Mountain, the innovative original score by multi-award winning Australian composer, Caitlin Yeo, will be performed, while Paul Dukas’ L’apprenti sorcier (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice), best known for its inclusion in the Walt Disney 1940 animated film, Fantasia, will also be presented. Cinematic will also feature special guest Daniel Le on piano.

As always, the musicians will perform in costume, making this concert a riot of colour and characters. Grab some popcorn, kick back, and relive your favourite movie moments live in the Concert Hall – guaranteeing a great time for the whole family.
