AAR-Brisbane-Festival-WAYFINDER-photo-by-Amber-HainesPrepare to be dazzled by Geelong Arts Centre’s SEASON 2024 – a season that promises extraordinary experiences through the world of the arts, offering something for everyone.

Having proudly unveiled their remarkable $140 million Little Malop Street redevelopment in August 2023, SEASON 2024 offers theatre-goers the opportunity to experience the new arts centre like never before.

“Geelong Arts Centre’s SEASON 2024 is an open invitation for Geelong to be part of something extraordinary,” said Geelong Arts Centre CEO & Creative Director, Joel McGuinness.

“From laughter-inducing comedy to soul-stirring classics, we’ve curated a season that resonates with the essence of our community.” Our goal with SEASON 2024 is to take you on a journey; one that ignites your curiosity while ensuring enjoyment, just like the incredible new Geelong Arts Centre,” said Mr McGuinness.

The season aims to take audience members on a journey that ignites their curiosity while ensuring enjoyment, just like the incredible new arts centre. Arts lovers will have the chance to discover something new while savouring timeless classics in a celebration of diversity, harmonising the traditional with the modern.

Consisting of eight core performances and four special additions, Geelong Arts Centre’s SEASON 2024 brings together cherished theatrical masterpieces like A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, with coming-of-age dramedy, a co-commissioned world premiere contemporary work from world-renowned Geelong theatre-makers, Back to Back Theatre, music from John Foreman’s legendary Aussie Pops Orchestra, as well as mesmerising contemporary dance and circus.

SEASON 2024 invites the community to immerse themselves in a broad range of artistic experiences. Geelong Arts Centre’s 2024 Family Magic program will continue to provide families with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the magic of the performing arts with six fabulous performances, while Delightful Days & Matinees returns with six unmissable performances for those who prefer to visit the centre during the day.

Following its successful inaugural season in 2023, Geelong Arts Centre is thrilled to announce the return of the REWIRE program in 2024; a celebration of new art, contemporary Australian voices, and immersive experiences with a modern edge that challenge, thrill, and delight.

“From contemporary comedies that will leave you in stitches to the timeless works of Shakespeare, from classic productions that resonate through the ages to thought-provoking contemporary dramas, SEASON 2024 promises to push the boundaries of creativity and captivate your imagination,” said Geelong Arts Centre Head of Programming, Penny McCabe.

“Geelong Arts Centre SEASON 2024 aims to leave you with more than memories; we want you to walk away inspired, moved, and ready to embrace the extraordinary,” said Ms McCabe.
