Back by popular demand, this strictly limited encore season will once again transport audiences on an extraordinary journey through the life and music of rock ‘n’ roll superstar, Elvis Presley – from his childhood in Tupelo, Mississippi, through to his triumphant ’68 Comeback Special.

The musical features over 40 iconic hits, such as Jailhouse Rock, Hound Dog, That’s All Right, All Shook Up, Suspicious Minds, Heartbreak Hotel, Burning Love, Blue Suede Shoes, Good Rockin’ Tonight, Don’t Be Cruel, Are You Lonesome, Return to Sender, Teddy Bear, A Big Hunk O’ Love, See See Rider, Can’t Help Falling In Love, A Little Less Conversation, Guitar Man and more.

Mainstage and television star Rob Mallett (Home and Away, Aladdin, Singin’ In The Rain) will continue to shine in the role of Elvis Presley, with remaining cast members to be announced soon.

After captivating Melbourne audiences during its debut in 2023, the production has since gone on a nationwide tour and continues to receive rave reviews and standing ovations across the country. Now, Elvis fans have one final opportunity to immerse themselves in the timeless music and story before the curtain falls for the last time in the city.

“Returning to Melbourne feels like a joyous homecoming,” said Producer David Venn. “The overwhelming reception from our Melbourne audiences the first time around was truly heartening, and we look forward to bringing it back to the Athenaeum Theatre for the final time.”

Creative team members include Alister Smith as Director, Michael Ralph as Choreographer, Daniel Puckey as Music Director, Dan Potra as Set Designer, Isaac Lummis as Costume Designer, Declan O’Neill as Lighting Designer, David McKinnon as Video Designer, and Greg Ginger as Sound Designer.

Mark Andrew joined the production as an Elvis consultant, having toured the world as an Elvis tribute artist and working with people who knew Elvis Presley himself.

David Abbinanti and Sean Cercone have written the book for the musical, with David composing the Orchestrations, Arrangements and Additional Music & Lyrics. Together they have worked on a slew of hit internationally touring musicals such as Saturday Night Fever: The Musical and Ghost: The Musical, collaborating with Oscar and Grammy winners.
