The conversation about the future of Victoria’s creative industries is well underway with Creative Victoria announcing two new public workshops to meet demand.
Minister for Creative Industries, Martin Foley, said a second Melbourne workshop has been scheduled for Friday 3 July after the first booked out within days. A workshop will also be held in Mildura on Thursday 9 July following interest from the local community.
“Creativity plays a part in the lives of all Victorians and in the identity of our state,” says Minister Foley. “It has been wonderful to see how many Victorians have already taken the opportunity to contribute to the development of our first creative industries strategy.”
“Workshops and events are just one way to contribute to the development of the strategy. The more creative, bold and ambitious your ideas the better. This process is not only about developing and strengthening Victoria’s creative sectors but about charting a path for how the creative industries can contribute to the future of our state.”
Creative industries workshops are being held across the state as part of the development of Victoria’s first creative industries strategy. The workshops bring together community members and Creative Victoria representatives to discuss ideas for growing Victoria’s creative industries – arts, culture, screen and design – and the contribution they make to Victoria’s economy, liveability and identity.
Workshops are free and open to Victorians involved in any aspect of the creative industries as well as the broader public. As well as the new Melbourne and Mildura sessions, registrations are open for workshops in Sale, Frankston, Werribee and Shepparton.
