Cheaper than Therapy

Elliot Clayfield_ChangeCheaper than Therapy is the first solo show for Melbourne-based artist Art & Dharma. It explores living a mindful existence through deliberate actions, seeking a deeper purpose, and connecting with the Earth and those that inhabit it.

Art & Dharma is a pseudonym for Melbourne-based stencil artist Elliot Clayfield, who has been creating stencil art for the past two years. Citing travel and Buddhism as his biggest inspirations, his subject matter is often inspired by people’s resilience in the face of hardship, and the desire to make a difference in the world.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Art & Dharma seeks a clean, structured style that combines aspects of both art and design, and likes the often obscure and seemingly random shapes of stencils that when layered reveal detail, trying to maintain a happy medium between a stylistic, and realistic approach.

For every sale made throughout the exhibition, a contribution will go to the Charity: Water  who help remote villages around the world gain access to clean water; as well as The Click Foundation who raise epilepsy awareness and are searching for a cure.
