This April, North Melbourne’s historic Meat Market will again be taken over by the critically acclaimed global sensation that is Club Kabarett!
Led by the undisputed Weimar kabarett punk provocateur, Bernie Dieter, this show promises unfiltered, debaucherous chaos, featuring Bernie’s immense vocal talent showcased through her powerful original songs, and much loved show stopping anthems, alongside her talented live haus band.
Over the last ten years, this Mistress of Mayhem has masterfully captivated, shocked and inspired audiences and critics across the globe. Inspired by the burgeoning 1920s pre-war Weimar kabarett scene in historic Berlin, Club Kabarett is a modern-day interpretation of these historic Berlin dens of iniquity—an inclusive, untamed, bohemian, gender-bending space that celebrates freedom and difference.
“This show encapsulates all that is truly wonderful about Melbourne in so many ways,” says Bernie Dieter. “Australia’s culture capital really personifies all that this show represents, freedom, expression, individuality and of course the ability to throw a bloody good party!
“I was overwhelmed by the response to our show last year, so we are so looking forward to bringing it back for even longer this time!” said Dieter.
Club Kabarett recently collected three Green Room Award nominations for their 2025 Melbourne Meat Market season, including Outstanding Production Design and Outstanding Production and won Outstanding Ensemble.
Club Kabarett stars the deliciously salacious and wildly talented, Bernie Dieter, alongside her band of legendary misfits and mischief makers including show favourites, Soliana Erse, a world class contortionist whose moves defy the limits of the human body; and the human heatwave known as Jacqueline Furey, a purveyor of the beautiful and bizarre, whether she is swallowing swords or breathing fire;
Also on the bill is avante garde drag cabaret artiste, Iva Rosebud, whose work spans Cabaret, Music Theatre, Drag, Burlesque and Performance Art; and the world renowned circus performer, Jarred Dewey, whose grace and skill as an aerialist have seen him perform on some the most prestigious stages in the world.
Joining this immensely talented group of Club Kabarett favourites in Melbourne this year will be international tap dancer Caleb Cameron, who has been dazzling the stages of the Crazy Horse in Paris with his astonishing dance moves; and the hair suspension viral TikTok sensation, Melissa Lee, fresh from the stages of London’s West End.
Bernie Dieter has cemented herself as one of the standout kabarett artists of her generation, consistently earning raving reviews hailing her as an “the grand Weimar dame of debauchery, the ringmaster of risqué” (Limelight Magazine).
Blending sequins, satire, and a cut-throat wit, Club Kabarett is an international sensation! In the last few years, this cabaret icon and her international assortment of bombastic bohemians have headlined the Auckland Festival, and Sziget Festival in Budapest.
They also enjoyed a critically acclaimed three-months in London’s West End and a sell-out 2025 season at Melbourne’s Meat Market and most recently a critically acclaimed season as the headline show in The Garden of Unearthly Delights in Adelaide.
